UFA, July 8. /TASS/. The BRICS summit held in the Urals city of Ufa adopted a strategy of the association’s economic partnership. The strategy envisages the exchange of experience in public policies and programs for food security and nutrition, the strengthening of family farming and the creation of public food stocks. The BRICS strategy for economic partnership also stipulates cooperation in increasing productivity and sustainability of agricultural production. "BRICS countries as large agricultural producers play an important role in the global agriculture market. BRICS countries also provide a fundamental contribution to food security and nutrition, given that a sizeable majority of the 209 million people who have been lifted out of food insecurity in the past two decades reside in the BRICS countries," the document says.
