British Council holds expo for eight Bahraini artists

Manama, May 17 (BNA): The British Council in Bahrain held a lecture and art exhibition.
Regional Arts Director for Middle-East and North Africa (MENA) at the British Council, David Codling, and eight Bahraini artists participated.

More than 80 artists from various arts fields, such as visual arts, music, literature, theatre and cinema, as well as those interested in art, attended the event.

David Codling conducted a discussion with artists about opportunities in the artistic field, the contributions of arts to society and economy, the global challenges faced by artists, in addition to the artistic scene in Bahrain, and opportunities for cooperation between the United Kingdom and the Arab world in the artistic field.

David Codling and Richard Rooze, Director of the British Council in Bahrain, opened the joint expo of Bahraini artists.

Members of the exhibiting group visited London in March, where they held meetings, and visited key artistic events,

The London visit was part of the British Council’s Culture and Sports Programme.

Held at Mashq Art Space, the exhibition will remain open to the public until May 21.
