Burj Khalifa website wins ‘Emerald’ at MENA Cristal Awards for innovative approach to story-telling

DUBAI, 9th March, 2016 (WAM) -- The Burj Khalifa website has won the ‘Emerald’ honour at the MENA Cristal Digital and Mobile Awards in the Tourism and Travel category. The MENA Cristal Festival recognises the best advertising creations throughout North African and Middle Eastern countries, led by the slogan, ‘where innovation meets creativity.’ The winners are chosen by a jury comprising senior members of the advertising fraternity from across the globe. Burj Khalifa’s digital presence was revamped in 2015. The digital experience invites online visitors to journey through a unique collage of a 160 unheard fascinating stories, as you ascend the tower’s 160 storeys. The website also highlights several new facets of the tower, including the art pieces that have been specially commissioned for Burj Khalifa, the industry-defining technology used, and exclusive event venues. Visitors can also learn all about the history and making of the Burj Khalifa, from its evolution as ‘History Rising’ to now being ‘A Living Wonder’ and the world’s first ‘Vertical City’ with homes, offices, the prestigious Armani Hotel Dubai, the At.mosphere restaurant, and other attractions. A highlight of the new website is the booking tab for At the Top, Burj Khalifa SKY, which holds the Guinness World Record for the ‘Highest Observation Deck’ on Level 148, at a height of 555 metres. The on-line experience also includes a tour of Level 125. Visitors can also make bookings for At the Top, Burj Khalifa, the first observation deck that opened in the tower on Level 124. All facts and figures about Burj Khalifa, its design aspects, the milestones during the construction stage over four years, spectacular photographs from and of the tower and other interesting facets feature in the dynamic website available in English. Arabic and Chinese versions of the site will go live soon. At 828 metres (2,716.5 ft.), the 200 plus storey Burj Khalifa has 160 habitable levels, the most of any building in the world.
