Burnt City Globalized

Tehran, June 23, IRNA – Burnt City located in Zabol, Sistan Baluchestan province, was registered as global heritage based on a decision made during the 38th committee of World Heritage Summit, said deputy head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization. Commenting on the current summit in Doha, Mohammad Hassan Talebian said that 21 countries defended its registration on global heritage list. The Burnt City favored peace in the course of the history and now given its location near Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan, it can help foster peace and establish calm in the region. Burnt City is an ancient state city in Iran located 56 kilometers of Zabol on Zabol-Hamedan Raod in eastern Iran. The great city was established concurrent with Bronze Age associated with Jiroft Civilization and Iranians lived there 6,000 years ago.
