Buryatia proposes meat import

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The vice director of Russian “Buryatmyasprom” LLC Ms L.N.Krutiyan expressed an interest to import meat from Mongolia, during a meeting with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture N.Ariundold on March 24. The “Buryatmyasprom” LLC, based in the Russian Republic of Buryatia, has been conducting meat production since 1937. The Company has a capability to produce 36 million canned meat, 5,000 tons of sausage products, and 2,000 tons of semi-processed products, a capability of which had become possible with a technological renovation in 2013, said Ms Krutiyan. However, the operations have been stagnated recently due to insufficient supply of meat. She expressed an aspiration to build a joint meat factory with Mongolia in case the Mongolian Ministry approves it. The Ministry has planned many works in frames of developing agricultural sector, a key economic sector of Mongolia, said the State Secretary and suggested the company to submit its proposal in written form.
