Bus stop signs, ferry boat services to be improved in Thailand

BANGKOK, July 22 (TNA) - Transport Minister Chadchart Sittipunt says he will call a meeting with Bangkok officials this week, in an attempt to induce people to switch to using more bus and ferry boat services to reduce traffic. Chadchart said the talks would focus on road traffic law enforcement in Bangkok and its periphery areas as well as where express train projects were underway. About 6,000 Bangkok bus stops were also supposed to get a makeover, promised to be more welcoming and comfortable, complete with proper signboards and roofs. Meanwhile, ferry operators along the Chao Phraya River and Bangkok canals would hold a meeting soon to discuss their services and ways to help ease road traffic in the future. (TNA)
