Cabinet to hold new mobile meeting in Thai East

SA KAEO, March 30 (TNA) - The Thai Cabinet will hold its new mobile meeting in the eastern Chachoengsao on Sunday, with, among other issues, Thailand's statement to be presented before the Hague-based International Court of Justice (ICJ) next month, in a national defence against a case related to the Preah Vihear Temple along the common border, expected to be discussed and approved. Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and her Cabinet members visited nearby Sa Kaeo Province bordering Cambodia today, prior to the Cabinet's March 31 mobile meeting. The Thai Cabinet members were set to visit five provinces, including Chachoengsao, Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Samut Prakan and Sa Kaeo, before the Cabinet's 9th mobile meeting at a university in Chachoengsao. In Sa Kaeo, Governor Pakaratorn Thienchai briefed the Thai prime minister and her Cabinet members on the Thai-Cambodian border trade at an army camp in Aranyaprathet District, saying that Sa Kaeo is fit to be developed to become a “key border and logistics centre” for Thailand's trade with three Indochinese neighbouring countries, including Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam, linking with central Thai provinces before entering and becoming the “door for world trade”. The governor acknowledged that Thai-Cambodian border trade in Sa Kaeo alone amounted to over 52 billion baht last year, up from approximately 13 billion baht in 2011. There are seven Thai provinces bordering Cambodia.(TNA)
