Cabinet Welcomes Outcomes of 25th Arab Summit Held in Kuwait

Doha, April 02 (QNA) - The cabinet has welcomed the outcomes of the 25th Arab Summit Session held in Kuwait on March 25-26 and affirmed that the Kuwait Declaration which the summit adopted and the stands it contained , constitute a futher support to the Arab causes in such a stage of destiny At the outset of its regular weekly meeting held at its Emiri Diwan premises here on Wednesday under HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al Thani , the cabinet also highly appreciated Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah for his effective role and fruitful efforts he exerted for ensuring the success of the Arab summit , stated HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmad bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud . Then the cabinet considered topics tabled on the agenda as follow: First: Approving a draft law concerning the trading (Shopping) , industrial and similar public shops and the vendors and referring it to the Advisory Council. And as per such a draft law , its provisions would be valid on the following shops: 1-The shopping and industrial shops , either involved in trading or industrial activities or both of them. 2- The similar public shops including restaurants, coffee shops and clubs and the like. 3-Free professions shops including clinics , offices and the like. 4-Shops causing disturbance, harming health and dangerous . As per the provisions of such a draft law , it is not allowed to open or administrate any shop or practising any vendor activity unless getting a licence from the concerned department at the ministry of economy and commerce and public and private conditions or requirements should be made available at these shops plus a decision from the Minister of Economy and Commerce organizing work schedules in these shops. Second: Taking the necessary measures to issue a draft law on the promulgation of a law (system ) on GCC brands after the cabinet examined recommendations of the Advisory Council on it. The draft law (system) includes provisions related to procedures for the registration of trademarks, the duration of brand protection, the cancellation of registration, and transfer of ownership and mortgage and seizure. Third: The cabinet reviewed the following issues and took the appropriate decisions: 1. The letter of HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Cabinet Affairs on the following draft laws (systems) that were ratified by GCC supreme council in its 23rd session and to work according to them on a pilot basis for two years: - Draft law (system) on sources of ground surface water. - Draft law (system) on the processed wastewater and its reuse. - Draft law (system) on sources of desalinated water. 2. The letter of HE Minister of Energy and Industry and head of the permanent committee of water resources on the fourth quarterly report for 2013 on the work of the committee. The report said that the committee had discussed a number of issues and took the appropriate measures including strategic projects of water security (rehabilitation of wells' potable water and injecting aquifers with desalinated water), setting a water resources policy and updating the national strategy on water resources, the establishment of a database system for water resources, increasing Kahramaa's storage capacity of desalinated water, and the installation of smart meters on groundwater wells. 3. a draft Memorandum of Understanding between Qatar Tourism Authority and Qatar Museums Authority. Fourth: The ratification of a draft cooperation agreement on the conservation of biodiversity and wildlife and their habitats between Qatar's Ministry of Environment and Morocco's High Commission for Water and Forests and the Fight against Desertification. Fifth: The ratification of draft agreement between the government of Qatar and the Swiss Federal Council on the exemption of nationals of the two countries who possess diplomatic and service passports from the requirement of obtaining visa upon entry, stay and departure. Sixth: The ratification of draft cooperation agreement on the establishment of Junior Professional Officer (JPO) program between Qatar's government and the United Nations Educational, Scientific, Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
