Cambodia to cooperate with Thailand in all areas

BANGKOK, July 30 (TNA) - The Cambodian government understands the situation in Thailand and it is ready to give full support and cooperation with the Thai Kingdom in all areas, including issues relating to the formation of the ASEAN Communicity (AC) by the end of 2015. The remarks were made by Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense General Tea Banh during his meeting with Thai Army and National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) Chief General Prayuth Chan O-cha at the Royal Thai Army Headquarters in Bangkok on Tuesday afternoon. The Cambodian deputy premier also raised cross-bordercooperation, covering the promotion of two-way trade and other economic spheres, as well as bilateral cooperation within the framework of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) during his meeting with the Thai junta chief. The NCPO chief, meanwhile, briefed the Cambodian deputy prime minister on the Thai junta's actions and performances over the past few months to restore national peace and order and it is developing border areas to ensure the safety of people along the common border. The NCPO chief said Thailand also plans to jointly develop economies and tourism along the common border with Cambodia, with a Thai security delegation set to visit Cambodia soon to further discuss the plan. The Cambodian deputy prime minister then stressed on Cambodia's understanding of the the junta's necessary interventon in national administration to help solve domestic problems, reaffirming Phnom Penh's policy on not allowing anyone to use Cambodia to move against the Thai junta. The Cambodian deputy premier also invited the Thai junta chief to visit Phnom Penh when the situation in Thailand fully returns to normal. The Cambodian deputy prime minister and his entourage, including Cambodia's Deputy Army Chief Lieutenant General Hun Manet, a son of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, and other top brass military officers, paid a two-day official visit to Thailand from July 28-29 as the guests of the Royal Thai Armed Forces.
