Campaigns continued to woo voters for March 30 Senate election

BANGKOK, March 28 (TNA) - Election authorities have continued campaigning for Thailand's senatorial election, set on March 30, 2014. In Bung Kan Province, four of five candidates joined a meeting organized by election officials on Friday to introduce themselves and their visions to local voters. In Maha Sarakham Province, young eligible voters also joined a forum to express their opinions and then march on streets to campaign for voters' turnout. In Ubon Ratchathani Province, volunteers have a similar campaign march, aimed to achieve a 60 per cent turnout. In Buri Ram Province, election officials have asked local community leaders to persuade their villagers to cast their votes on Sunday, while preparing instruments to be used at 2,444 local polling stations. Similar to the campaigns in the northeastern provinces, in Yala Province in the Thai far South, the provincial governor led mountainbike and Vespa motorcycle enthusiasts, as well as volunteers to launch campaign for the March 30 senatorial election.
