Canadian photographer's books on display in Tehran

Tehran, Dec 2, IRNA - The Library of Niavaran Cultural Complex in northern Tehran has put on display two books about Iran by renowned Canadian photographer Roloff Beny. Known as one of the most prominent figures in the history of photography, Beny published ‘Persia, Bridge of Turquoise’ in 1975 and ‘Iran, Elements of Destiny’ in 1978 which focus on cultural issues and human relations in Iran as well as the country’s tourist attractions. Published in English and Persian, the two books are now on display at the library following requests by visitors to see autographed books. Filled with images of landscapes, buildings, antiquities and people, the works are among the most complete collections of illustrations showcasing Iran’s culture, lifestyle and diverse climates. One of the distinct features of the Library of Niavaran Cultural Complex is the existence of fascinating books donated and signed by heads of state, artists, renowned poets and writers such as Parvin E’tesami, Ali Naqi Vaziri, Manouchehr Atashi, John F. Kennedy, Walt Disney, Jawaharlal Nehru, Roloff Beny, Roman Ghirshman among other famous people. The book exhibition is open to the public until December 21. Follow us on Twitter @IrnaEnglish
