Caretaker PM inspects drought in Thai Northeast

SAKON NAKHON, THAILAND, March 6 (TNA) - Caretaker Prime Minister and Defence Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is visiting the Thai Northeast to inspect drought in the region. After arriving in Sakon Nakhon Province, Yingluck called a video conference with governors of 13 northeastern Thai provinces at Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University to discuss preparations for dealing with this year's drought in affected areas. Yingluck then visit a royally-initiated agricultural project at a village in Sakon Nakhon's Muang District, where she learned on the project's development and progress to be applied for an official policy on agricultural zoning in the country. The caretaker prime minister later inspected the local water situation, before traveling to neighbouring Mukdahan Province, where she is scheduled to spend overnight. (TNA)
