Caretaker science minister suffers from stroke, hospitalized

BANGKOK, April 29 (TNA) - Thailand's Caretaker Science and Technology Minister Phiraphan Phalusuk has been hospitalized, after he suffered from an ischemic stroke and was rushed to hospital. Phiraphan, a former MP of the ruling Pheu Thai Party in Yasothon Province in the Thai Northeast, underwent an urgent operation at Phyathai Nawamin Hospital on the outskirts of Bangkok on Tuesday. Caretaker Prime Minister and Defence Minister Yingluck, meanwhile, canceled her earlier scheduled meeting on Tuesday afternoon to visit the caretaker science and technology minister at the hospital, together with his relatives and friends, including members of the ruling Pheu Thai Party.
