Cargo train derails in Thai Northeast

BANGKOK, October 18 (TNA) - A cargo train derailed in Nokhon Ratchasima province, or Korat, in the Thai Northeast on Thursday night, but it has not affected the country's overall train services. The nine-carriage freight train o. 2206, almost of which were empty, slid off the tracks while travelling between Nakhon Ratchasima station and Bua Yai junction station at about 9pm on Thursday. The cause of the train derailment is being investigated by the State Railway of Thailand (SRT). The derailment has reportedly affected only rail transportation between Korat and a few adjacent provinces, but it has had no serious impacts on Thailand's overall train services. (TNA)
