Cause of boat explosion expected to be known this week

BANGKOK, March 6 (TNA) - The police initially believe Saturday’s boat explosion is resulted from fuel leak after they have interrogated the skipper, his assistant and 22 injured passengers. A total of 71 passengers were injured early Saturday when the passenger boat exploded in Klong Saen Saeb as it pulled into a pier near a Buddhist temple. Witnesses said that they heard the boat engine choked several times before the blast occurred. According to the police inspection, it was found that the gas cylinder which contained LNG was in normal condition. It is initially suspected that the leaking in a fuel supply line may cause the explosion. Police are awaiting the results of the inspection in detailed by concerned agencies before lawsuits could be filed against those responsible. The cause of the explosion is expected to be known later this week. (TNA)
