Chairman of Council of State Support for NGOs meets Chargé d'Affaires of U.S. Embassy

Baku, January 29, AzerTAc Chairman of the Council of State Support for NGOs Azay Guliyev has met Dereck Hogan, Chargé d'Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Baku and Brooke Isham, Director for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Azerbaijan. They exchanged views on the state of civil society in Azerbaijan, and as prospects of Azerbaijan-US cooperation. Mr Guliyev highlighted the implications of supplements and amendments made to Azerbaijan`s NGO-related legislation for the activity of foreign donors. He also said that under President Ilham Aliyev`s order grant projects given by public bodies to NGOs will be agreed with the Council.
