Chairman of State Committee for Work with Religious Associations meets Canadian Parliamentary delegation

Baku, April 5 (AzerTAc). Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Associations Elshad Iskandarov has today met Canadian delegation led by Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons, chairman of the Canada-Azerbaijan Friendship Group Barry Devolin. They exchanged views on current state of the tolerance atmosphere in Azerbaijan, as well as inter-religious relations. Mr. Isgandarov praised current state of friendship relations between the two countries. He also thanked Canada for their support on Azerbaijan`s just position in the international arena, as well as the country`s territorial integrity. Mr. Isgandarov briefed Barry Devolin on state - religion relations in Azerbaijan, as well as progress achieved by the Committee in the relevant sphere. Barry Devolin, in turn, noted he was aware of Azerbaijan`s high level tolerance atmosphere in this country.
