Charity walk, run in Bangkok set April 30

BANGKOK, April 24 (TNA) - The Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital, will organize a charity walk and run on April 30 in order to raise funds for the construction of a new patient building at the country's oldest hospital to pay tribute to late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Next Sunday's charity walk and run, the 11th of its kind, will be held during 4:30am-9pm, with its proceeds to go to the construction of Siriraj Hospital's Navamindrapobitr 84th Anniversary Building and to procure medical equipment The 14-kilometer- distance-run will be first started at 5am at the Srisavarindira Building in the hospital's premise, where participants will then head to the Arun Amarin Bridge, the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Antropology Center, before making a u-turn at the Taling Chan Police Station and heading back to the finish line at Siriraj Hospital. Apart from the 14-kilometer-distance-running event, another group of participants in a three- kilometer walk will leave the hospital at 5:15am from the Siriraj Piyamaharajkarun Hospital, passing through the Amarintraram Temple to Prannok Intersection, before heading back to Sirairaj Hospital at Gate 8. Parts of roads near Siriraj Hospital will, thus, be closed to traffic during 4am-8pm on April 30. (TNA)
