Chiang Mai ready to host Asia-Pacific Water Summit

CHIANG MAI, THAILAND, May 12 (TNA) - Thailand’s northern Chiang Mai province is ready to host the 2nd Asia-Pacific Water Summit (APWS), scheduled from May 14-20, said Deputy Prime Minister Plodprasop Surasawasdi. The Thai deputy premier Sunday led his entourage in the inspection of the Chiang Mai International Convention Centre of Chiang Mai province, the venue of the forth coming 2nd APWS. Plodprasop told reporters that final touches are being made at the venue, including decorations and scenery improvements, to accommodate more than 1,500 participants from 49 countries, including leaders of 10 countries, who are registered to attend the event. He said that security measures will also be beefed up to provide higher safety for all participants during the summit. (TNA)
