Chief Coach for U-20 Women's Football Team Appointed

Pyongyang, June 16 (KCNA) -- The DPRK Football Association appointed Hwang Yong Bong as the chief coach for women's football team some days ago. The DPRK U-20 women's football team led by Hwang is to defend its title in the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup to be held in August. He has proved successful as a coach in the AFC U-16 and U-19 women's championships, FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup and other games held in 2011-2016. In particular, he led the DPRK team to winning the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. He had been nominated as one of candidates for the Best FIFA Women's Coach 2017 Award by a panel of women's football experts. An article carried in the FIFA website said that in addition to tactical nous, Hwang prides himself on instilling great mental strength and versatility in his charges, enabling his team members to adapt to any scenario that a match throws at them.
