Chief Justice of England and Wales Visits Mal Lawal Biennale

Doha, January 07 (QNA) - The Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd, chief justice and president of the Supreme Court of England and Wales, and his accompanying delegation on Wednesday toured the second Mal Lawal biennale, which is organized by the Qatar Museums Authority (QMA) and currently taking place at Doha Exhibition Center. In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Lord Thomas expressed his admiration of the exhibited collections, which represent a historic era of Qatar, GCC states and some Arab countries in addition to some private collections that revive memories of legacy in these communities. During the tour, the chief justice of England and Wales was accompanied by a number of senior QMA officials. Mal Lawal, from the old Days in Qatari dialect, displays 4,000 traditional artefacts which tell visitors a story about their culture and heritage. It features manuscripts, weapons, Islamic collections, old maps, ethnographic and heritage items, antiquities, jewelry, clothing and accessories as well as many other rare items from Qatar and GCC states.
