Children to present Suu Kyi with handmade flowered hair clips

SAMUT SAKHON, THAILAND, June 22 (TNA) - Children of Myanmar migrant workers in Bangkok's neighbouring Samut Sakhon Province, where Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi is scheduled to visit on June 23, will present Suu Kyi with their handmade flowered hair clips as a welcome gift to the Myanmar democracy icon and Nobel Peace Prize laureate. Prasarn Sarawong, Director of Wat Sri Suttharam or Wat Kamphra School in Samut Sakhon, where children of Myanmar migrant workers study with Thai children, told journalists on June 21 that his students, especially the children of Myanmar migrant workers, are very excited to have a chance to welcome Suu Kyi and they have prepared handmade flowered hair clips for the Myanmar leader. Wat Sri Suttharam or Wat Kamphra School has been selected by provincial authorities to send 100 student representatives to welcome Suu Kyi during her visit to Samut Sakhon. Suu Kyi is scheduled to pay a three-day official visit to Thailand during June 23-25 as the guest of the Thai government, after her trip to Laos. (TNA)
