China’s Alibaba Group subsidiary company to open office in Russia

MOSCOW, December 22. /TASS/. UCWeb, a subsidiary company of Chinese Internet holding Alibaba Group which develops a mobile browser, opens an office in Russia, UCWeb told TASS. A UCWeb office will be situated in Moscow becoming a fourth regional office of the company, as other three offices are located in India, Indonesia and Vietnam. The new UCWeb office will be tasked to support and promote company’s products among users in Russia and other Russian-speaking countries. The Moscow office will be headed by Pavel Simonov who is a regional manager of the company in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States. “We seek for new Russian partners, including suppliers of content and IT-services, advertisers and mobile application developers to create jointly a sound ecosystem,” Simonov noted. UCWeb was founded in China in 2004 and Internet holding Alibaba Group had bought out the company in 2012. UCWeb develops a mobile browser for all mobile operating systems. Alibaba Group is a Chinese holding which operates in Internet commerce. The group has its own electronic payment system Alipay. Read more
