China Daily: AZERTAC expands cooperation with Chinese media outlets

Baku, June 6, AZERTAC China Daily newspaper has published an article highlighting the expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC) and Chinese media outlets. The article points out AZERTAC Chairman of the Board Aslan Aslanov’s meeting with the leadership of China Daily at the newspaper`s premises on the sidelines of the 1st Media Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) held in Beijing. “AZERTAC, which is currently holding the presidency of News Agencies World Congress and the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) produces news in 7 languages, including in Chinese. The Confucius Institute functioning in Baku maintains close cooperation with AZERTAC in producing news and teaching Chinese language to employees of the agency,” the article says. The article quotes AZERTAC Chairman of the Board Aslan Aslanov as saying: “The development of Azerbaijan-China relations in various directions gives news impetus to the expansion of cooperation between the two countries' media outlets. There are good relations between AZERTAC and Xinhua. Building and developing cooperation with other Chinese media outlets, including China Daily will be mutually beneficial.” The article also highlights the agreement of cooperation reached between AZERTAC and China Daily, envisaging the implementation of joint projects, experience exchange, reciprocal placement of banners on each other`s websites and other issues. With more than 100 million active readers, China Daily covers domestic and world news through its print editions and digital media worldwide. China Daily is the first media outlet to launch its internet website in China. The number of China Daily`s foreign readers exceeds the number of local readers, which bears evidence to the newspaper`s global influence.
