China to Hold WWII Exhibitions in 150 Countries

Beijing, July 6 (Jiji Press)--China said Monday that it will hold exhibitions in about 150 countries and regions and at the U.N. headquarters later this year as it marks the 70th anniversary of its victory over Japan in World War II in September. The exhibitions are expected to highlight the severity of the damage that China suffered from the war and the cruelty of the wartime behavior of Japanese soldiers. The events, to be held in August and September, are also intended to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations, officials said. China also plans to publish 100 volumes of testimonies by Japanese war criminals, many of which will be made public for the first time. Plays and concerts will be staged across China on the theme of the war against Japan. END
