China Strongly Condemns Paris Shooting

By Niam Seet Wei BEIJING, Jan 8 (Bernama) -- China has strongly condemned the deadly terrorist attack on the office of Charlie Hebdo, a Paris-based satirical newspaper, said a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman. "We are deeply shocked and strongly condemn the terrorist attack," said Hong Lei, via the foreign ministry spokesman's social messaging app WeChat official account. He said China mourned for the victims and expressed sympathy to their families and the injured. China firmly opposed all kinds of terrorism and supported the efforts made by the French to safeguard domestic security, he added. On Jan 7, three masked gunmen opened fire at the Charlie Hebdo office in Paris, killing 12 people and leaving three others critically injured.
