China's State Councillor Arrives Monday Night For Two-Day Visit To Malaysia

PUTRAJAYA (Malaysia), May 10 (Bernama) -- China's State Councillor Yang Jiechi will arrive here Monday night for a two-day official visit to Malaysia, said Wisma Putra (Malaysia's Foreign Ministry). Yang is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Najib Razak, Foreign Minister Anifah Aman and Defence Minister Hishammuddin Hussein, it said in a statement. "His Excellency Yang Jiechi is expected to discuss and exchange views with Malaysia on bilateral issues and the latest regional developments and international issues," it said. Wisma Putra said Yang's visit reflected the close bilateral relations between Malaysia and China and the strong desire of both countries to further strengthen the ties. It said Yang's visit was the fourth to Malaysia in his capacity as the State Councillor. He had visited Malaysia five times as Foreign Affairs Minister, from 2007 to 2012, it added. --BERNAMA
