Chinese New Year celebrations

BANGKOK, Jan 29 (TNA) - The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is cooperating with China’s Ministry of Culture in organising a memorable Chinese New Year at Bangkok’s Lumpini Park for local and foreign tourists. The event marks the 42nd year of Sino-Thai diplomatic relations and is part of five-day Thailand Tourism Festival, which ends today. Visitors can see spectacular lighting and decorations upon entering the Lumpini Park as they will see more than 40 – metre long of dragon from the central province of Nakhon Sawan. Lumpim park’s zone 8 has been arranged as a Chinatown, in which visitors can pay respect to Chinese gods, learn about the different Sino-Thai traditions of the various Chinese communities and taste famous Chinese dishes from different regions. China’s Ministry of Culture has brought special cultural shows from famous troupes including dances, acrobatic performances and puppet shows. (TNA)
