BANGKOK, October 12 (TNA) - Visiting Chinese Premir Li Keqiang, on his second day official visit to Thailand on Saturday, paid a courtesy call on Thailand's Privy Council President General Prem Tunsulanonda, who is also the country's Stateman and former prime minister. Accompanied by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and other members of his entourage, Li held talks with General Prem at the latter's office in Bangkok. Issues raised at the talks between the visiting Chinese Premier and the Thai Stateman have not been available. The Chinese Premier then visited the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce in the capital to meet the Chinese people and business operators in Thailand, during which he praised Thailand's warm welcome to him and said Beijing is pleased to cooperate with the Thai government based on agreements signed on Friday, covering deepening railway cooperation, as well as cooperation on economy, trade, investment, technology, maritime affairs and energy. The Chinese Premier later traveled to Thailand's northern resort Chiang Mai Province, where he will observe community goods under the Thai government-supported One Tambon One Product (OTOP) Project, before departing Thailand on Sunday. Li’s official visit to the Kingdom is aimed at strengthening relations between the two countries.
