Chinese Premier to visit Thailand

BANGKOK, October 4 (TNA) - Chinese Premier Li Keqiang is scheduled to pay an official visit to Thailand, as the guest of the Thai government, from October 11-13, 2013. During his visit to Thailand, his first trip to the Kingdom after he took office in March this year, Li will meet his Thai counterpart Yingluck Shinawatra, who is also Thai Defence Minister concurrently, to discuss approaches on strengthening the strategic partnership between China and Thailand, as well as China and the 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), in which Thailand is a member state. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of China-ASEAN strategic partnership. Beijing and Bangkok will also sign many memoranda of understanding (MOUs), including those on bilateral cooperation on infrastructure development, science and technology, energy, maritime, culture and education. The Chinese Premier will also visit Thailand's northern resort Chiang Mai Province to observe the provincial One Tambon One Product project, under which local community products are promoted. (TNA)
