Chinese rescue team arrives in Chiang Rai

CHIANG RAI, June 30 (TNA) - The first search and rescue team from China has arrived at Tham Luang – Kun Nam Nang Non Cave in Thailand’s northernmost province of Chiang Rai to join combined government forces and other foreign experts in searching for 12 missing boys and their soccer coach, who have been trapped inside the cave since last Saturday. The team comprising six persons, led by Wang Yingjie, of Beijing Peaceland Foundation, arrived at the scene Friday evening. They have carried with them necessary equipment, including three-dimensional imaging equipment and an underwater robot to facilitate the mission. Earlier, search and rescue teams from at least six countries including Britain and the United States have provided assistance to help save the missing boys and their coach, trapped inside the 10-km cave complex, partially flooded in the rainy season.
