BEIJING, August 27. /TASS/. Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang will travel to the Russian Far Eastern city of Vladivostok on September 3 to attend the inaugural Eastern Economic Forum, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Thursday. During his three-day visit, Wang "will also take part in the first session of the committee on regional cooperation between North-East China and the Russian Far East", a foreign ministry spokesman said, adding that Wang was visiting Russia at the invitation of Yuri Trutnev, Russian deputy prime minister and presidential envoy to the Far East. The Eastern Economic Forum will take place on Russky Island near Vladivostok from September 3 to 5. More than 3,500 guests, including 1,500 direct participants, are expected to attend the event. These are representatives of the world’s leading companies and government agencies from Russia and countries of the Asia-Pacific region. China is sending its largest delegation yet. The agenda includes issues of economic development in the Far East and Russia’s cooperation with Asia-Pacific countries. The forum’s opening plenary session will highlight competitive advantages in the region and the current state of key industries.
