BANGKOK, December 25 (TNA) - Christmas comes with joyful atmosphere in Thailand although it is not an official occasion in the Kingdom, in which the majority of people are Buddhists. Hotels and shops nationwide are decorated with Christmas trees and multi-color lights to welcome customers. In Phitsanulok Province in the Lower Thai North, for instance, Christmas was celebrated at many schools on Thursday. At Rojanawit Malabiang School in Muang District, for example, students wore Santa Claus outfits and sang Christmas songs and they enjoyed receiving sweets as Christmas gifts. In Krabi Province in the Thai South, hotels, shops and restaurants on the Phi Phi Islands are decorated in the Christmas fashion. Christmas trees and colorful illuminations are displayed to welcome a large number of international tourists who arrive there to celebrate Christmas and New Year 2015. In Songkhla Province, also in the Thai far South, people are buying and exchanging gifts, while shops in the Muang Songkhla Municipality are attracting customers with product discounts and quality, including health-conscious gift baskets, as well as good services.
