Chula Anesthesia Run 2016 plans for July 31

BANGKOK, July 15 (TNA) -- King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital is set to host the world's first vertical run event "Chula Anesthesia Run 2016." Head of the Anesthesiology under the Faculty of Medicine of King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital Dr Somrat Jarulaksananant, in his capacity as the chairman of the Chula Anesthesia Run 2016 organising team, a walkathon-marathon event in honour of the Their Majesties King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit, in which all the proceeds would be used to purchase medical equipment for operation rooms of the hospital. The event is scheduled for July 31. The activities would be divided into three categories of Vertical Run, where runners would be running up the stairs of a 34-storey Phumsiri Mangkhalanusorn building or up a total of 921 stair steps. Only 300 runners would be accepted for this category, where all participants would receive a medallion of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. Runners would be running up the fire escape stairs from the parking lot up to the rooftop, in which the top three winners would also receive a cash prize and souvenir cup. The second category is a 10.3 kilometre marathon race around the hospital, Siam Square, and Chulalongkorn University, and the third activity is 4-kilometre walkathon-marathon around the hospital grounds.
