Chularatchamontri Office Permits Prayers at Mosques

SONGKHLA, May 4 (TNA) - The Office of the Chularatchamontri allows Muslims to resume salah prayers at mosques on Fridays while performing social distancing and wearing face masks. The office had banned Friday salah prayers at mosques from March 17 to help contain the coronavirus disease 2019. At the latest development, it allows Muslims to resume the prayers. The office requires the management of mosques or health officials to provide hand wash gel at the entrances of mosques. Muslims are banned from using basins collectively at mosques. The places must be cleaned before and after Friday prayers. Their air-conditioners must be turned off and prayers must be 1-2 meters apart. Besides, prayers must perform their salah bath at home, use personal mats and always wear face masks. They are banned from greetings by shaking hands, hugging and kissing cheeks. Children and women are not allowed to pray at mosques on Fridays. Those who cough or have a sore throat or runny nose are denied entry at mosques. All religious and other activities that would gather crowds and feasting after fasting are prohibited. (TNA)
