City's Innovation Can Not Be Standardized: Bandung Major

Jakarta, Nov 12 (Antara) - Bandung Mayor Ridwan Kamil stated that innovation in the area could not be standardized between one city to another city due to culture, needs, and sociological communities in each region. "Now with the freedom of our regional autonomy (the officers) can improvise and innovate for solutions. In Bandung or Bantaeng have different solutions," Ridwan Kamil said here on Tuesday night. Ridwan Kamil became a speaker in a discussion titled "Dialogue of Democracy: From Local to Indonesia" in Jakarta, Tuesday. He remarked if 500 regencies/cities in Indonesia improvised and innovated in the development of the region, it would affected the advancement of Indonesia. "Great Indonesia can be realized sooner if the head of regencies improvise in the development of the region," Ridwan affirmed. Ridwan believed that the meaning of unity in diversity was in the regional autonomy. Each leaders could innovate to develop their region based on culture, needs, and sociological communities. In Bandung, Ridwan gave the budget for community unit (RW) to build their own territory innovatively. "I translate regional autonomy in Bandung to the RW. The RW has the power and budget to make a change," he explained.
