Coast Guard assists marine excavator

Manama, July 17 (BNA): Coast Guard Commander, Major-General Alaa Siyadi announced today that the Coast Guard vessels assisted and provided the required support to a marine excavator with nine crews on board after encountering a water leakage because of a technical fault in the pumps. He said that no injuries were reported.  He highlighted that four vessels were deployed to the scene immediately after the case was reported, in which the rescue team controlled the situation with the back-up of the Royal Bahrain Naval Force. The excavator was moved to a shallow area, and the technicians fixed a pump, and the leak was partially controlled. The Coast Guard Commander said that after coordination with concerned bodies, the initial investigation revealed that lack of commitment to the safety instruction was the reason behind the accident.
