Cold snap hits nearby 40 Thai provinces

BANGKOK, December 29 (TNA) - The Thai Ministry of Interior's Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation says that the ongoing cold snap has hit 36 Thai provinces, affecting more than 20 million households. According to the department's updated report released on Sunday, all areas in the 36 provinces, mostly in the Thai North and Northeast, have already been declared cold-stricken disaster zones by local authorities. Agencies concerned are urgently delivering relief supplies to the affected people, including jackets and blankets, while officials and medical teams have been dispatched to relief centers in the affected areas to provide assistance to the cold victims.(TNA)
