COMCEC session participants informed on results of Armenian occupation policy

Istanbul, November 28, AzerTAc The 30th Session of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) is underway in Istanbul with the participation of the OIC Member States and relevant OIC, regional and international institutions. An Azerbaijani delegation led by Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev takes part at the session. Addressing the session, Minister Abulfaz Garayev spoke of Azerbaijan’s place and role in COMCEC, the significance of the international projects his Ministry implements and further plans. Speaking of the heavy sequences of Armenia’s aggressive policy, Garayev said Armenia has implemented genocide in the Azerbaijani lands. As a result, according to the Minister, his country has undergone heavy lost also in the tourism field. And even the occupied areas of Azerbaijan are presented as the territory of Armenia or as an independent “state”. To prevent such cases, the COMCEC member states should regard this question attentively and support Azerbaijan’s interests. Minister Garayev said the member states should demonstrate solidarity to protect their cultural heritage. Noting the importance of preservation and protection of Islamic cultural heritage, the Azerbaijani Minister invited the COMCEC member countries to take part at the World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Azerbaijan in 2015.
