Commander-in-chief receives Japanese delegation

Manama, May 5 (BNA): Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa received here today Japanese Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Uto Takashi, and Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Defense Hirotaka Ishikawa and their accompanying delegation, currently on a visit to the Kingdom. The BDF Commander-in-Chief affirmed the importance of continuous interaction and coordination between officials from the two countries, lauding the depth of bilateral ties, progressing steadily in various fields, especially the military one. He also discussed with them, issues of mutual concern. The Japanese delegation was briefed on BDF's history, units and development strides during the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander. Defence Ministry's Undersecretary Major-General Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Director of Military Security Major-General Hassan Mohammed Saad, Assistant Chief of Staff for Supply and Logistics Rear Admiral Yussef Ahmed Malallah, the Japanese Ambassador to Bahrain Kiyoshi Asako, and a number of senior BDF officers attended.
