Complaint filed after tourists sitting on Buddha statue

AYUTTHAYA, March 10 (TNA) - A complaint has been filed with police on a tourist posing for pictures in the lap of a large Buddha statue at Wat Yai Chai Mongkol in the ancient city of Ayutthaya. Sukanya Baonert, director of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Historical Park, said an official of the park filed the complaint against the woman with the provincial police after the pictures were posted on social media. She said inappropriate acts by foreign tourists at the renowned temple occurred regularly and most of them said either they had no intention or did not see the sign, warning visitors to behave properly. No legal actions have been taken against them in the past, she said, adding that park officials only warned them. (TNA)
