Computer game on liberation of Khorramshahr unveiled in Qom

TEHRAN,June 1(MNA) -- A computer game about the liberation of Khorramshahr was unveiled during a ceremony in Qom on Thursday. Entitled “Destruction Operations 2: Battle of Khorramshahr”, the game has been produced by several young seminary students of Qom in collaboration with Iran’s National Foundation for Computer Games. The game portrays how the port city of Khorramshahr, which was captured by Iraq on October 26, 1980, was liberated through the major operation called Beit-ul-Moqaddas on May 24, 1982. Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Hosseini and director of Qom Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance Morteza Esmaeili-Taba attended the event. Speaking at the ceremony, Hosseini said that Iranian forces fought against the enemy to promote Islam, and different artistic tools can be used to transfer knowledge of their bravery and culture of martyrdom to today’s younger generation. He expressed his satisfaction over the participation of seminary students in producing computer games and added, “Seminaries can help in art productions and technologies with their high Islamic and religious potentials. “We can introduce the rich Islamic culture to the world, making use of Islamic elements and symbols in computer productions,” he added. Esmaeili-Taba also stated that there are good potentials in Qom Province for the production of animations and computer games.
