Concerned agencies to assist strong baht-affected exporters

BANGKOK, April 23 (TNA) - Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has ordered Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Kittirat Na-Ranong and other agencies concerned to fully help exporters who have been affected by the ongoing strong Thai baht. Yingluck told journalists of her instruction on Tuesday, after chairing the Cabinet's weekly meeting, saying that Deputy Premier Kittirat promised to work out monetary and financial solutions as soon as possible. Yingluck shared other parties’ concerns that the Thai baht could appreciate to the rate of 27 baht a US dollar, acknowledging that the problem is serious and she, thus, ordered the relevant agencies to jointly handle the issue. The Thai premier urged that all the party concerned perform duties at their best to help people, exporters and the nation to survive a, probably, crisis caused by the strong Thai baht. (TNA)
