Conference on Persian language held in Madrid

TEHRAN,Sept.22(MNA) -- A conference on Persian language education was held at the Complutense University in Madrid on September 20 and 21. Juan Martos Quesada and Damaso Lopez Garcia of the Complutense University, Alberto Cantera Glera of University of Salamanca and a number of other scholars presented their latest studies. In addition, officials from Iran’s Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) were also in attendance at the conference, which was organized by the Iranian Cultural Attaché’s Office and the Complutense University. Cultural dialogues are made practicable through languages. Thus, Spain and Iran should attach more importance to language education, ICRO Deputy Director for Educational Affairs Mohammadreza Dehshiri said in his speech at the meeting. He said that most cultural misunderstandings result from unfamiliarity hence the duty of cultural officials is to introduce their nations to other parts of the world. At the ceremony, the Iranian cultural attaché in Madrid Amir Purpezeshk also attended the conference. He said that his office has organized some Persian language courses for children and adults in Madrid over the past few years.
