Congratulates Tokyo For Hosting Olympics 2020 : Gobel

Jakarta, Sept 9 (Antara) - Chairman of Indonesian-Japan Friendship Association Rachmat Gobel has congratulated Tokyo that has been chosen by the International Olympic Committee to host the 2020 Summer Games. Rahmat Gobel congratulated on behalf Indonesian communities during the closing event of Jak-Japan Matsuri (or Jakarta-Japan Festival) at the National Monument area in Jakarta on Sunday night, Sept 8. "Congratulations for becoming the host of the Olympic 2020, we looking forward to that event," he said. Tokyo has been chosen over Istanbul and Madrid by the International Olympic Committee to host the 2020 Summer Games. Gobel was also thanked Japan for their trust to continue their investment in Indonesia. Until first semester of 2013, the Japanese investment in Indonesia was reached US 2.25 billions dollar that made Japan as the first investor, put Singapore and US aside. According to Gobel, Indonesia can learn from Japan for their commitment, hard work and trust that lead them into a solid teamwork. "A solid teamwork will lead you to success," he said. Gobel, who is the CEO of PT Panasonic Gobel Indonesia, was pointed to the success of the 4th Jak-Japan Matsuri event in Jakarta during Sept 1 to 8, that involved a teamwork from Jakarta Local Government and Embassy of Japan in Indonesia. "If we keep continuing our had work and commitment there`s no impossible if someday we could also be chosen as the host of Olympic Games," he said. Gobel was also noted the importance of bridging the Indonesia-Japan bilateral relationship through people to people contact between two countries. Hence, he expects more cross-cultural events from Indonesia and Japan in the next future.
