Contract for delivery of S-400 systems with Saudi Arabia signed in May 2017 - federal service

DUBAI, November 15. /TASS/. The contract for the supply of the S-400 missile systems to Saudi Arabia was signed in May 2017, the press service of the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) informed TASS at the Dubai Airshow 2017 exhibition. "The contract for the supply of the S-400 Triumf systems in the interests of the kingdom’s armed forces was concluded in May 2017," the press service said. The FSMTC’s press service earlier reported that Russia and Saudi Arabia had reached an agreement on the supply of the S-400 missile systems. In 2015, China became the first foreign customer of Russia’s S-400 systems. Russia’s S-400 Triumf (NATO reporting name: SA-21 Growler) is the latest long-range anti-aircraft missile system that went into service in 2007. It is designed to destroy aircraft, cruise and ballistic missiles, including medium-range missiles, and surface targets. The S-400 can engage targets at a distance of 400 kilometers and at an altitude of up to 30 kilometers. Read more
