Cooperation between Xinhua, TASS mirror development of China-Russia relations - Xinhua president

BEIJING, June 24. /TASS/. Cooperation between China’s Xinhua and Russia’s TASS is at the highest ever level, as are relations between the two countries, Xinhua President Cai Mingzhao told TASS on Friday. "TASS is out long-time friend," he said. "Our relations with TASS today mirror the Russia-China interstate relations. They are at the highest ever level of development. We have good personal relations with TASS top executives. We are friends and partners too." "This year, we mark the 60th anniversary of the cooperation agreement between TASS and Xinhua. We in China traditionally say that 60 years is one calendar cycle. So, during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit on June 25 we can sign a new cooperation agreement and begin a new cycle," the Xinhua president said. "Naturally, we plan a number of events this year to mark the anniversary of friendly cooperation between Xinhua and TASS," Cai Mingzhao said, adding that these event may become "a major component of Russia-China Cross Years of the Mass Media."
