Copyrights Of 12 Iranian Books Purchased At Frankfurt Fair

Tehran, Oct 14, IRNA - Director General of Iran’s Cultural Fairs Institute (ICFI) said that agreements for purchasing the rights of at least 12 Iranian books have been finalized at the 66th Frankfurt International Book Fair. Amir Masoud Shahram-Nia said that negotiations for buying the copyrights of other Iranian works are underway. “I suppose that more Iranian books will be added to this list,” he said. “Basically, we aim to make connection between the publishers since our institute has not brought any book to sell its rights, but we are providing the grounds for the participation of the Iranian publishers at the international publishing events which is much more significant than creating and selling the copyrights of some books. We in fact should draw the attention of major international publishers,” he said. “Many of our negotiations are mediated by the Ghazaal Literary Agency and it is interesting to note that literature, women and religion are three subjects of interest to the international publishers, he said./end
