Countries to Be Explained on Thai government’s Action on MERS

BANGKOK, June 21 (TNA) - Thai embassies and consulates have been ordered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to explain to countries where they are based on how the Thai government is taking action against the deadly virus Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS). The ministry’s spokesman Sek Wannamethee said on Sunday that preventive measures against MERS in the kingdom include a cooperation with 37 commercial airlines in monitoring those arriving and departing at airports, issuing warnings to those who have just returned from the disease high risk-prone countries to strictly follow guidelines, installing thermometres at airports, and distribution of face-masks to those suffering from breathing. Information to be given to foreign countries is aimed at making them to have confidence in the Thai government in controlling the deadly virus from spreading, Mr. Sek said. (TNA)
