Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Program (CPISP) begins candidacy training

Manama, July 4 (BNA): Dr. Cynthia Gessling, the Director of the Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Program (CPISP), has addressed the launch session of CPISP’s student candidacy training program. During the session, the Director stressed the importance developing the skills and abilities of talented Bahraini students, and praised the efforts of HRH the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, and First Deputy Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa in this regard. The session, which was held in cooperation with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) at their Juffair headquarters, was an opportunity to brief students on the upcoming training course, due to begin this summer and continue through the first semester of the academic year. Dr. Gessling welcomed the students, congratulated them on making it to the training phase of the selection process, and wished them luck in their efforts to secure a place among HRH the Crown Prince’s 2019 scholarship class. She noted that, in addition to building on each CPISP candidate’s academic talents, the training program is designed to develop a broad set of complementary skills including leadership and communication, and encouraged those present to attend every session. Dr. Gessling went on to explain that the training sessions, some of which have been organised in cooperation with BIBF, will cover academic writing, critical thinking, and personality and career path assessment. Students will also attend expert guest lectures, IELTS and SAT exam preparation classes, and take part in a leadership and communication development training course that incorporates a Level 3 Certificate in Team Leading certified by the UK-based Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Dr. Gessling thanked the Bahrain Institute of Banking & Finance (BIBF) for its support and continued cooperation with the Program, praising the quality of training offered by the Institute, and wishing the students a successful and productive experience. The Head of the BIBF’s Leadership, Management & Assessment Centre, Dr. Abdulla Al Sada, expressed the institute’s keenness to continue working to develop the abilities of outstanding Bahraini students through the CPISP, and praised HRH the Crown Prince for actively supporting training and educational initiatives throughout the Kingdom. The Manager of the BIBF’s International Foundation Program Ms. Amal Al-Awadhi, Leadership Course Leader Mr. Philip Mukhwana, and SAT & IELTS preparation course instructor Dr. Conrad Randall, also addressed the students on the benefits and requirements of the training programme, and wished them every success in the future.
